Revisión bibliográfica de Carabidae (Coleoptera) en los Andes del Ecuador

Resumen
Esta revisión ofrece un sumario de las características de la familia, así como también los eventos más importantes dentro de la carabidología a partir de 1779. Debido a su historia evolutiva, taxonomía relativamente estable, alta riqueza de especies, sensibilidad a cambios en el ambiente, métodos de recolección fácil y amplia distribución en los Andes, los carábidos pueden ser usados tanto en estudios poblacionales, así como también en ecología, fragmentación y monitoreos de hábitat, y biología de la conservación.
